Our First Afternoon and Evening

We arrived at the lake at about 4:00. We made great time with only two quick stops. It is amazing how much time is taken off the trip without toddler bathroom stops:)

It took about 15 minutes for the boys to unload the car, change their clothes and head to the dock.

Checking out the lake
Sean dives right in
Steve, Mike, Nick and Kevin are right behind
A GREAT group of young men!
The Black-eyed Susans are in full bloom.
The boys on the trampoline.
We had visitors
Just hanging out
"Did you see that horsefly??" (Mom is laughing on shore as the boys leapt from the trampoline)
"I'll get it"!
"You missed. I'll get it!"
Sean GOT HIM!
Unable to go for the horsefly, Kevin jumps from the raft.
Out of the lake and into the hot tub
They're still smiling!
I am sure that they are all going to dive underwater after another day of "Sean's Mom and her camera," but for now, I'll keep taking pictures.

Dinner was pizza and chicken wings-- cheese pizza, sausage and onion pizza, fresh tomato, mushroom and meatball pizza and bacon pizza (bacon pizza?????) I didn't try that one...

After dinner, Grandpa took us all out for a boat ride.
Sean did a little waterskiing.
Who's going to try next??
Mike!
Mike is ALMOST up!
...back on the boat
Nick wants to try. Nick looked like he was going to make it up.
I have to say, I am so proud of the boys and their great spirits. Waterskiing for the first time is a challenge. It was getting dark so we decided to call it a night and try again over the next few days. Watch for pictures of each of the boys skiing!
The boys are all still smiling back on the boat (with Grandma and Grandpa's home behind them)
Diving from the boat
into the lake...
Kevin salutes
I think this one ended in a belly flop:(
Back to the raft for a final swim.
After swimming, we drove up the bluff to look for some deer at dusk.
This region is famous for its' vineyards. They are everywhere.
A view across the vineyards, over the bluff
A beautiful buck
It was dark so this is a tough picture but look very closely. The field is FULL of deer. Each of the white spots you see were eyes of different deer. There were families. We counted 14 deer in this one spot. By the end of our little excursion, we had counted over 40 deer.
As we returned to the house, the boys found this little guy. "Mrs. --- take a picture!"
The boys ended their night around the TV, catching the Red Bulls game. I should say, at this point, I ended my night. I am sure the boy's night is continuing....

Looking forward to another day tomorrow!
