About six weeks ago, I had an idea and approached my parents (Grandma and Grandpa). How would they feel if I offered a trip to the lake to Sean and some friends to celebrate Sean's 16th birthday in August? "The Lake" is the way we refer to Grandma and Grandpa's home. It is our favorite place to visit and we all look forward to our trips each year. We spent 10 days there in early July.
Sean is the oldest of five siblings. While I try very hard for one-on-one time with each of my children on a regular basis, it is not always all that we need. The idea of spending four days with Sean and his friends was very appealing.
Grandma and Grandpa liked the idea and we presented it to Sean. He invited four close friends. We immediately began to plan and the excitement grew!
So, with a lot of support from my loving husband (who took time from work to care for the remainder of our household) and the support of a great group of families who allowed their boys to come....our adventure begins!
The idea to "blog" this time only happened this morning so please accept this generic layout and style and enjoy the stories and pictures as we travel together to the place we like to call "God's Country," a beautiful area in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York.
